• Aftershave – A good aftershave or astringent will work wonders after shaving or for general skin irritations.

• Moisturize – especially during the harsh winter, skin can become dehydrated and turn into an itchy, flaky nightmare.

When you’re hard at work, sometimes it’s easy to forget the basic rules of safety. But if you’re working on a construction site, it’s critical to have the proper safety training and equipment. It might not always be top of mind, but your safety and the safety of everyone around you should always be in the background. • Watch where you step – falls can be fatal to anyone in the construction industry. Always be aware of your footing and don’t step on skylights or unsecured roof shingles.

• Protect your eyes – they’re vital to your job, so it makes sense to invest in some good, quality protective eye wear. Safety glasses can be stylish and keep your sight in tact with the dirt and grime goes flying!

Sometimes what really makes or breaks a great look isn’t the main pieces, but how you accessorize. A nice shirt and some good pants are great, but they don’t make you stand out when you’re out on the town. The details on your outfit, and even the details on your truck can make or break the first impression you make. So what kind of details should you focus on?

Just like our name says – we always try to put safety first here at Safety & Style. In that tradition we wanted to step back from workplace safety and share some great tips for staying safe throughout the holiday season. We hope everyone is getting to spend some extra time at home with the family next week, and we know it’s important to play safe just like it’s important to work safe!

Christmas Trees – Always make sure your fresh tree is moist as a dried out tree can become a fire hazard. The trunk should be sticky and needles should be green and not brittle. Make sure to keep the tree away from heat sources that will dry it out and make it a fire hazard.

Holiday Lights – Whatever you celebrate, lights are a popular decoration. Check them each year for exposed wires, frayed wires, or just excessive wear. Also, don’t overload any of your outlets to avoid electrical fires.

Candles – Never leave a candle unattended! Keep them well ventilated and blow them out well in advance of you leaving the room.
